That said, the majority of consumers will opt for the 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine with 179 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. While this engine is available on a front-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive models, the 2.5-litre engine is only available in FWD versions.

The most powerful engine in the Escape line is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic and is only available in AWD.

It is one of the most powerful engines in the segment and offers Escape owners incredible performance, impressive acceleration, and the ability to drive with complete confidence.

Despite its power, it is still fuel efficient with an average fuel consumption rating of only 10.2 litres per 100 kilometres with four-wheel drive. That’s certainly quite impressive for an engine with 245 horsepower.
